IOP-Intensive Outpatient Program for Drugs & Alcohol
Forrest Hill Outpatient Services offers effective, affordable drug and alcohol intensive outpatient treatment for anyone struggling with substance abuse.
Clients attend group sessions at the facility at least three days a week and complete at least nine hours of group therapy. Although our intensive outpatient program only requires clients to attend nine hours of group therapy, we strongly recommend that Clients attend as many groups as possible. Our intensive outpatient program typically lasts anywhere from 3-5 months depending on the client and clinical recommendation. In our intensive outpatient program, clients are given the option to live in their own homes or to be referred to locally owned “sober houses”. Transportation assistance is provided for those clients who do not have their own mode of transportation.
The first step in treatment consists of meeting with one of our highly qualified therapists to receive a psychological assessment, a drug and alcohol evaluation, and begin the process of defining an individualized treatment plan specifically tailored to meet the needs of our clients. We encourage clients to be active participants in the development and advancement of their treatment program.
OP- Outpatient Program
Forrest Hill Outpatient Services offers the “next step” in recovery, the Outpatient level of care.
The OP program is the least intensive level of care in the multi-phase approach to outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. Clients attend an agreed upon number of group sessions based upon discussions with their primary therapist as well as one individual therapy session per week. Gainful employment should be achieved by this stage in the recovery process.
Therapies and services:
Addiction is more than a physical dependence on drugs or alcohol. Even after detox, when physical dependence has been alleviated, people suffering with addiction continue to be at high risk for relapse. Psychological and social factors are often powerful stimuli for relapse. Forrest Hill Outpatient Services offers clients a variety of services to aid individuals in their recovery path.
Individual therapy with a client’s assigned therapist will occur at minimum of one time weekly or as needed for private counseling clients. Our caring and compassionate therapists are there every step of the way to meet the needs of each client. The benefits of individual therapy sessions are countless for many individuals and are highly recommended to continue long after the client has completed their IOP program. The added support of individual therapy fosters ongoing success for client’s on the road to recovery.
During addiction the whole family suffers. An individual’s family has a central role to play in the treatment of any health problem, including the disease of addiction. It is important to understand the complex role that families can play in substance abuse treatment. They can be a source of help to the treatment process, but they also must manage the consequences of the client’s addictive behavior. Individual family members are concerned about the client’s substance abuse, but they also have their own goals and issues. Providing services to the whole family can improve treatment effectiveness. Forrest Hill Outpatient Services assists in meeting the challenge of working together with mutual understanding, flexibility, and adjustments among the substance abuse treatment provider, Client and family.
Group therapy is the bedrock of a successful path to total recovery. In group therapy, a person is more likely to be both challenged and supported by peers who are also on the path to recovery. Group therapy is offered multiple times throughout the week to meet the scheduling needs of our clients.
D.O.T. Assessments (S.A.P. return to work)
Our S.A.P. (substance abuse professional) evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
Communication and expression of one’s thoughts are fundamental keys to a successful recovery. Through the universal language of art, many Clients have found great solace in being able to express themselves in a non traditional manner. We provide clients with the opportunity to get creative through a variety of art/craft projects.
The ability to communicate one’s thoughts without verbalizing them has been shown to be extremely beneficial as a component of treatment. Through the use of expressive writing, many Clients have been able to open a new means of “letting it out”.
Non-pharmaceutical pain relief is an important aspect of returning to a healthy, “normal” lifestyle. Through the use of non invasive joint manipulation and massage, many have found chiropractic care to be a viable alternative to the abuse of substances.
